 What Is Decompression Traction ?

Our system , a traction based procedure, uses a therapeutic table, that is connected to a computer, to electronically stretch and decompress your spinal structures. You rest on a table while a padded harness focuses the gentle force along your spinal column. This decompresses your spine--specifically the intervertebral discs and joints and stretches your spinal muscles--the three structures that produce most of your pain.

Decompression creates a negative intradiscal pressure or vacuum effect within the disc and draws the nucleus of the disc back into place. Vital fluids containing oxygen, blood, and nutrients are also drawn back into the disc so the disc can heal naturally. At the beginning of each session, you are fitted with a comfortable harness designed to offer optimal decompression.The computer is programmed in accordance with your specific treatment plan.and your session commences.The force gently graduates over several minutes to a peak that specifically separates the intervertebral discs and gently stretches the soft tissue. You'll experience multiple cycles of stretch and relaxation. Sessions are typically less than 20 minutes and many individuals benefit greatly with as few as 6-15 treatments.

The number of sessions depends on the severity of the underlying condition. Your treatment sessions are typically both comfortable and relaxing.
